Curriculum
at GBOS
The GBOS curriculum is interdisciplinary, drawing from the subject areas of science, math, social studies, history, language arts, art (music, theatre, visual arts), health and physical education.
The science portion of the curriculum is modeled on the National Science Education Standards (NSES) as well as Nevada and district science standards. There is an emphasis on life science for 5th grade students, and on earth and space science for 6th grade students. The curriculum includes the following elements of the NSES (grades 5-8):
