For Teachers
Bring your Class to the Mountains!
Break out of the classroom and join us for a week adventure around Lake Tahoe! During the week program we will cover many Nevada State standards & the new common core standards for your class while having an amazing experience!
Your students will live in separate boys and girls cabins, eat family style (healthy!) meals and come away enjoying science and conservation! The program runs in the Fall, Winter and Spring. While the lessons for each season vary slightly, we focus on hands-on, inquiry based learning facilitated by amazing Naturalists. As a teacher, you will be the liason for communication between our school and your class.
During the program, you will have a period of time during the afternoon to lead your class in a story, reflection or activity of your choosing. You will find a complete list of responsibilities here.
“We were able to align our grade level’s quarterly outcomes with many of the standards covered at GBOS. The before and after activity books are very valuable to introduce and reinforce areas covered here.” – Teacher
We want this experience to be incredible for not only your students, but for you as well! You will be staying in a cabin separate from the students overlooking the lake, with plenty of time during the day to join the Naturalist groups and check out what the students are learning.
The 2015-2016 school year cost is $200 per student for fall and spring programs, $130 for 3-day winter programs, and $80 per student for 2-day winter programs.
