These short excursions are led by our knowledgeable naturalists and created for the whole family to enjoy!
Participant numbers will be limited, so be sure to register below!

Galena Creek Regional Park

Join us Saturday July 18 at 10:00 am at Galena Creek Regional Park for our family hike. We're changing from our earlier scheduled hike to walk with Ranger Bob and learn more about this historic forested park at
18350 Mount Rose Hwy.
Meet at the south entrance outside the ranger office for a one-hour ranger walk followed by an optional hour of nature activities for the children.​

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and good walking shoes.
And a friend! ​

This is a popular event, and registration is limited. Book now!
Guided hikes are scheduled and occur, permitting weather. We will attempt to notify you 24 hours in advance if the hike will be rescheduled. Some weather conditions that will result in cancellation include but are not limited to an Air Quality Index (AQI) greater than 100, chain controls on major highways, or rain. Hikes will only be rescheduled once.

Our guided hikes are free to all members of the family. Payment is not required, but donations are definitely appreciated! Because of donor support, we are able to keep our program costs low to reach young children and families in underserved communities. Each family who donates will receive a pocket field guide to over 100 local species in appreciation for supporting us!
