Come join us on our monthly hikes!
These short excursions are led by our knowledgeable naturalists and created for the whole family to enjoy!
Participant numbers will be limited, so be sure to register below!

Donations are not required but are highly appreciated.

Washoe Lake State Park

Washoe Lake Dunes!

Families are welcome to join us at Washoe Lake State Park to hike at the amazing dunes. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a camera!

After entering the park, turn right and drive towards the equestrian center to find parking closer to accessing the dunes.

The park fee is waived, but donations are appreciated.

Please consider a donation to help support our family hikes and programs, and we'll make sure your family gets one of our convenient pocket field guides to over 100 local species.

This is a popular event, and registration is limited. Book now!

Guided hikes are scheduled and occur, permitting weather. We will attempt to notify you 24 hours in advance if the hike will be rescheduled. Some weather conditions that will result in cancellation include but are not limited to an Air Quality Index (AQI) greater than 100, chain controls on major highways, or rain. Hikes will only be rescheduled once.

Leashed dogs too!

Our guided hikes are free to all members of the family. Payment is not required, but donations are definitely appreciated! Because of donor support, we are able to keep our program costs low to reach those in underserved communities. Each family who donates will receive a field guide in appreciation for supporting us!
