Family Hike Event

Saturday, November 16th, 2024
10:00 am to noon

Phillip & Annie Callahan Park

Meet at Phillip and Annie Callahan Park near the end of the pavement on Callahan Road off the Mt. Rose Highway. Bonus for families is the great double kiddie park for fun and picnic afterwards with one area for bigger kids and one for tots. We’ll have a chance to make pinecone turkeys in a secret pretty spot by the water. Bring water, sunscreen, snacks, warm layers, walking shoes, and a camera if you like.

All ages welcome!

This is a popular event, and registration is limited. Book now!

Guided hikes are scheduled and occur permitting weather. We will attempt to notify you 24 hours in advance if the hike will be rescheduled. Some weather conditions that will result in cancellation include but are not limited to an Air Quality Index (AQI) greater than 100, chain controls on major highways, or rain. Hikes will only be rescheduled once.

All ages and skill levels are welcome
Leashed dogs too!

Our guided hikes are free to all members of the family. Payment is not required, but donations are definitely appreciated! Because of donor support, we are able to keep our program costs low to reach those in underserved communities. Each family who donates will receive a field guide in appreciation for supporting us!
