Thomas Creek
Join us for our annual fall colors hike at Thomas Creek!
Come see the beautiful fall colors as we hike Thomas Creek
on a beautiful Saturday morning.
Meet at the Thomas Creek trailhead off the Mt. Rose Highway. From Reno take U.S. 395 south, then take Mount Rose Highway west to Timberline Road. Drive 1.3 mi past the end of the pavement, stay on Timberline Road and you will see the trailhead on your left shortly after
you cross the bridge.
It's a easy hike meant for all ages. Bring your friends, a camera, sunscreen, layers, water, and snacks.

This is a highly popular event, and registration is limited. Book now!
Guided hikes are scheduled and occur, permitting weather. We will attempt to notify you 24 hours in advance if the hike will be rescheduled. Some weather conditions that will result in cancellation include but are not limited to an Air Quality Index (AQI) greater than 100, chain controls on major highways, or rain. Hikes will only be rescheduled once.

Our guided hikes are free to all members of the family. Payment is not required, but donations are definitely appreciated! Because of donor support, we are able to keep our program costs low to reach young children and families in underserved communities. Each family who donates will receive a pocket field guide to over 100 local species in appreciation for supporting us!
